Summary: Behavioral addictions may overlap with psychological distress and other aspects of daily life. In a study of 202 faculty members, participants were assessed for several types of behavioral addiction, including work, smartphone, social media, gaming, gambling, and Food Addiction, along with depression, anxiety, stress, and sleep. Work, smartphone, and social media addiction scores were among the highest, and several addictive behaviors were associated with psychological symptoms. Those working more than 40 hours per week also had higher work addiction scores. The findings highlight the complex relationship between addictive behaviors, work demands, and psychological well-being.
