The Food Addiction Institute is an organization of recovering food addicts and allied scientists and professionals committed to speaking out publically on behalf of all food addicts.
For the first six years, all work was done by volunteers. There have been regular visioning meetings, work groups from the International Advisory Board, and a number of accomplishments. All projects have been funded by those volunteers doing the work – over $100,000 in addition to thousands of volunteer hours.
Now incorporated as an IRS tax exempt 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, the Food Addiction Institute is taking its next step on its mission to heal all food addicts. The next priority of the Board of Directors is to raise funds for an Executive Director and an office. We see this as essential as we expand into a more public role, manage more volunteer projects and begin to initiate funded research, training and education programs at a national and international level.
